An Amazin news for all our for all the growers of the Piana del Sele. The European Commission has given its ok to the inclusion of Piana del Sele rocket (rucola) in the list of PGI products of the European Union. The implementing regulation was in fact published in the Official Journal of the European Union of 3 August 2020. Thanks and congratulations for the great commitment and the work done to the President of Coldiretti Association Salerno Vito Busillo and to the whole organizing committee.
The Rucola della Piana del Sele currently covers an area of about 3100 hectares, distributed over the 8 municipalities that make up this geographical area, with an average production in recent years of 400 million kilos of product, which is about 73% of the national production. , with an average annual turnover of over 680 million euros, about 5 thousand direct employees and 4 thousand related industries.
